The Electoral Registration Service - which was the first Electoral Registration Service in the United Kingdom to achieve Charter Mark status - aims to give every resident of the Borough an opportunity to have their say at local, national, European elections and Referenda, if they are eligible.

The Service is responsible for compiling the Register of Electors each year and providing advice to all residents about their rights to vote. It also plays a significant role in the management of elections.

The standards of the service which you can expect from the Electoral Registration Service and what to do if you have a problem are set out in the Electoral Registration Citizen's Charter which was updated in 2007, and will be reviewed in 2008.
