How to tell us if you are moving or are a new occupier If you have recently moved into the borough and will be liable for Council Tax, the earlier you tell us, the more time you will get to pay your bill; it will also stop us from continuing to send letters to the previous occupier. If you are moving out, we may owe you money and we can only give it back if you tell us when you leave and where we can contact you. You can let the whole Council know of your change of address by going to our dedicated Moving In, Moving Out site and filling in the address change form. Please remember to give the exact date that you moved in or out of a property, otherwise you will be charged incorrectly.
