Information for landlords If you own a property, and rent it to tenants you are required to notify us when there is a change of occupancy. Details required are:
- The names of all tenants moving into or out of the property
- The dates each of the tenants moved into or out of the property
- Forwarding addresses of any tenants who moved out of the property
- any other relevant information.
You must also note that for any period between tenancies, you will be made responsible for Council Tax payments. However:
If the property remains furnished during this period, you may be eligible for a 25% discount from your Council Tax.

Or - If the property is unfurnished and unoccupied during this time, you may be eligible for a six month exemption from Council Tax. Please note, to qualify for this exemption, the property must have been occupied for a minimum of six weeks.

If you do not notify us when occupancy changes, you will continue to remain liable for Council Tax.
