Performance indicators
Every council in the country is required to publish a set of information for the twelve months ending March each year.

This information is laid down by the government and covers service areas we provide. The figures are vetted by an independent auditor appointed by those bodies. They measure performance across a wide range of activities with separate checks covering social services, education, housing, and leisure services, libraries and street cleansing.

Later in the year, it will be possible to compare the records of different boroughs across over 90 aspects of performance. There is keen competition among London councils to do well in these tables.

All councils are required to publish this data in their annual corporate plan which includes the latest performance statistics. The audited performance indicators are available here from mid-September each year.

To make it easier to see where progress is being made, the figures are shown for each of the last three years. That gives a fuller picture of the service standards achieved rather than a simple snapshot.
