  Our Equality Policy

Our Housing Department Equalities Policy sets out our commitment to equality in the provision of our services and in our role as an employer.

From our Publications section, you can download or order any of our publications, including our Equalities Policy, in either standard format or alternative formats such as other languages, large print, audio tape or Braille.

The policy compliments the council's policies on equality as set out in the Corporate Equality Plan.

  Our Annual Equalities Report

To ensure we are providing services and employment opportunities on an equitable basis to all sections of the community, regular monitoring reports are submitted to the department's Equalities Working Group, which consists of a group of senior officers in the department and is chaired by the Director of Housing. The Equalities Working Group is responsible for setting an annual equalities work programme and ensuring that our aims and objectives in relation to equality are achieved. This work programme is included in our Annual Equalities Report, which is presented to the  Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee and forms the housing section of the council's Corporate Equality Plan.
