Estate Services are responsible for monitoring the contractors who clean the communal areas and maintain the open spaces and gardens on estates and they also carry out regular inspections of the contractor's work. Estate Services also deal with minor repairs to communal areas on estates - anything from a broken entry phone system to cracked paving stones. In an emergency we can arrange to get the problem solved within two hours. If it is a small-scale repair, estate services officers can carry out the repair themselves. If it is a more complex problem, they can arrange for a contractor to put it right. Communal areas are inspected on a routine basis to pick up any repairs that need to be undertaken. In addition, health and safety inspections are carried out to these areas every three months. To register a request for a repair to a communal area please call 020 8871 7445 or 7446 or email hms@wandsworth.gov.uk.
Estate Services are on hand to help deal with anti-social behaviour on estates. If you complain about a noisy neighbour or anti-social behaviour an estate services officer will visit the site, monitor the situation and collect evidence of any problem. This evidence may be used in court. A report is then sent to the relevant area team who will take over the responsibility for dealing with the complaint. Estate Services carry out regular checks on estates to look for abandoned and untaxed cars. If you spot an abandoned vehicle, chances are it has already been reported and is in the process of being tracked back to its owner. But, just in case it hasn't, please report any suspect vehicles on 020 8871 6709. If you have any information which could lead the council and the police to drug dealers on estates, please let the council know about it. All information on the whereabouts of drug dealers will be dealt with in complete confidence - residents who give these vital leads will not be required to give evidence in court.
