What is a freedom pass? We pay for the freedom pass to help older and disabled people get around. An information leaflet with details of when the pass can be used is issued with your pass and can be downloaded below.

The freedom pass for older people gives you free travel on the following:
Services in London Transport for London buses, Tube, Docklands Light Railway, Trams and London Overground between 9am and 4.30am the following morning. Monday to Friday, plus all day at weekends and on public holidays.

Other local buses in the London area (not part of Transport for London) between 9.30am and 11pm, Monday to Friday, plus all day at weekends and on public holidays. Some bus operators may accept travel at other times. Please check with the relevant bus company.

National Rail (other than London Overground) in Standard accommodation on most local rail services between 9.30am and 4.30am the following morning, Monday to Friday, plus all day at weekends and on public holidays.
On some routes, holders of the pass may travel from 9am Monday to Friday, plus all day at weekends and on public holidays.

National Scheme - Local bus services in England from 1 April 2008 The National Scheme will give from the 1 April 2008 holders of the Older person's freedom pass free travel on local bus services anywhere in England between 9.30am and 11pm Monday to Friday, all day at weekends and on public holidays.
You will need to show your freedom pass and photocard to the bus driver, as the pass cannot be used on bus card readers outside London.
The freedom pass will only be valid outside London if it's been renewed and re-stickered with a 2010 expiry date, a red rose logo and a bus hologram. The pass will not be valid on tram, light rail, metro or train services outside of London.

Who is eligible Men and women aged 60 and over whose sole or principal residence is in the borough of Wandsworth.
Where and how to apply The libraries listed below will issue to Wandsworth residents only. You must apply in person and bring with you:
- proof of your name and age.
- proof of your sole or principal residence in the borough of Wandsworth.
- and one recent passport size photograph.
Only certain items of proof are acceptable. These are listed on the application form which can be downloaded below. The application form is also available from libraries, the Town Hall Concourse in Wandsworth High Street or by calling the Concessionary Travel Helpline on 020 8871 8871. Please pay careful attention to this list as failure to provide the correct proof will result in your application being refused.

Lost or stolen freedom passes For lost or stolen passes and photocards you will need proof of your name, age, residency and one recent passport sized photograph. See the application form for details. For stolen passes you will also need a crime number from the police.
Faulty or damaged freedom passes For faulty or damaged passes you will need proof of your name, age, sole or principal residence in the borough of Wandsworth and if your photocard is damaged one recent passport size photograph. See application form for details.
Renewals To renew your pass you will need to bring your freedom pass and photocard and recent proof of your sole or principal residence in the borough of Wandsworth. See application form for details.
Library issuing times Monday to Friday*, 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 6.30pm (4.30pm Fridays) Except - York Gardens Library, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, 2pm to 6.30pm. Wednesday and Thursday, 10am to 12 noon, 2pm to 6.30pm
