THE FACTS: Solvents
(volatile substances) such as glue and gas.

Solvents

What they look like:
Solvents (volatile substances) are found in lighter fuel (butane), hair spray, deodorant, nail varnish remover, glue and some paints.

How they are used:
Inhaled or sniffed (huffing, tooting).

The Effects:
Becoming light headed, dizziness, hallucination - seeing or hearing things that aren't really there, suffocation.

The risks:
Death especially on first use, possible damage to the brain, liver and kidneys, accidents, choking on your own vomit, and blackouts.

The law:
It is illegal for shopkeepers to sell solvents (volatile substances) to a young person who they know is going to use them to sniff.
It is illegal to sell butane lighter fuel to anyone under 18 years old.
