THE FACTS: Ecstasy
Sometimes called MDMA, MDA, Pills, Doves, Mitsubishis, E, XTC and many other 'brand' names.

Ecstasy

What it looks like:
Comes as a tablet or capsule or as a powder.

How it 's used:
Tablets or capsules are swallowed and the powder is snorted, smoked or injected.

The Effects:
Feeling energetic,friendly and happy, colours look brighter, dry throat and mouth. Loss of appetite, music sounds better, jaw tightens and pupils become dilated. Rise in heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature. Sweating.

The Risks:
There's lots of fake Ecstasy being sold so it's hard to know what effect it'll have.
Mixing Ecstasy with other drugs or alcohol is very dangerous.
Taking more than one Ecstasy tablet at a time is dangerous.
Can lead to feelings of depression, confusion, panic, fear and first-time epileptic fits.

The Law:
Ecstasy is a Class A drug. Having or using Ecstasy can lead to up to 7 years in prison and/or an unlimited fine. Supplying Ecstasy (which includes passing it on to friends) is punishable by up to life imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine.
Getting a criminal record can make it more difficult to travel abroad or get certain jobs.
