Regenerate Roehampton logoA new centre for Roehampton!

What's new?
The outline planning application to regenerate the centre of Roehampton is now available on the Planning Register. You can also read the Planning Service news story on the application.

Introduction
Since 2004 we have made a concerted effort to improve and regenerate Roehampton.

We have concentrated our activities on these five sites:

  • Site A: Recreation Centre
  • Site B: Boys Club
  • Site C: The Co-op block
  • Site map of Roehampton areaSite D: Danebury Avenue Shops
  • Site E: Allbrook House/Library

As a result of local residents' comments, one of these sites (A) has been expanded and refurbished, and re-opened as the Roehampton Sport and Fitness Centre in January 2008.

Working together for Roehampton

Working together with the Roehampton Partnership, we are committed to regenerating the Danebury Avenue area and creating an attractive new centre for local people and businesses.

All parties are keen to take advantage of the new opportunities presented by for example, the expansion of Roehampton University and redevelopment of Queen Mary's Hospital.

We aim to:

  • Create a vibrant new heart for Roehampton
  • Improve the look and feel of the area
  • Make the area safer
  • Provide better shopping and leisure facilities
  • Make Roehampton more attractive to people from outside the area

The key to all these proposals is their ability to attract new investment to the area and provide viable schemes.

Each of the different options has now been tested and the latest proposals can be found in the committee report to the Regeneration and Community Safety OSC on 4 September 2008.
