The Benefits Service is responsible for the assessment of 25,0000 Housing and Council Tax Benefit claims within the borough. We deal with a very high level of customer demand for information and advice and the support and advice we give to our customers is important to us.

The Government has awarded the service a Chartermark in recognition of how well we treat our customers and we hold a BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation. The Finance Department holds IIP(Investors in People) accreditation for the development of our staff.
