Wandsworth's Children's Trust Arrangement has been set up to improve the lives of children and young people in Wandsworth. It consists of a group of organisations that have agreed to work together to improve the outcomes of children living or attending school in the borough. The Children's Trust Arrangement, which was launched on 1st January 2008, has been established in line with the official guidance in the Children Act 2004 to coordinate local programmes and initiatives with this aim. All the organisations involved work with and provide services for children and young people. These include services offered by health, schools, police, voluntary and community sector agencies, education, social services, youth, play and connexions. The Trust aims to ensure that services continue to improve and that a range of services and support can be accessed by children, young people and their parents and carers as easily and locally as possible. Recently the services offered by the Children's Trust Arrangement were inspected by Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education). The feedback from the inspectors was extremely positive and is an endorsement of all of the hard work that has been undertaken to ensure that the best possible services are available to children and young people. You can get more information on the outcomes from the inspections and download a copy of the full Ofsted report. There are a number of developments that the Children's Trust will be working on over the summer and into autumn. These include developing a new Children and Young People's Plan and asking parents and carers about the services they think they need to help them support their children. We will also be looking at the best ways to ensure that children, young people, parents and carers can be continually involved in shaping and developing the services provided by Wandsworth Children's Trust Arrangement. |
