UNLOCK SIM CARD

This is to make your phone work on other networks, NOT to unlock a stolen phone :)

Use a site such as Trycktill, Unlockme, Unlock Nokiafree or Unlockitfree where you can get programmes to open up most Nokia phones.

Basically you need the phone ID (called the IMEI code) plus the network and the phone model.

Put that info into one of the sites above and it will generate an unlock code for you.

IMEI code?

IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity and your phone's 'number plate'.

It is most often behind the battery or by typing *#06# into the handset. 

If you use a stolen phone a) you can be traced b) this number is marked as invalid.
 
 Also in case of interest - unlocking a phone is not illegal.

To unlock a phone

1. You need IMEI
2. Network
3. Make and Model

• Put that info into a site (see above).
• It will give you a code.
• Put a 'blocked' sim into your phone.
• Put the code into your phone

IMPORTANT - You only have five attempts to enter the correct code so be extremely careful or the phone is locked proper and you will have to get shop to unlock it for you.
